Rides at Coney Beach : Porthcawl

GO KARTS
New for 2010 Season. The karts are powered by 4-stroke engines and are run on an outdoor circuit. Karts do not have a differential. The lack of a differential means that one rear tyre must slide while cornering, this is achieved by designing the chassis so that the inside rear tyre lifts up slightly when the kart turns the corner. This allows the tyre to lose some of its grip and slide or lift off the ground completely.
All current and may former Formula One World Championship drivers grew up racing karts, most prominent among them are Schumacher, Senna, Prost, Alonso and Lewis Hamilton.
Outdoor go karting provide all that you need for an unforgettable experience of driving.

Beach Party
The design is based on the KMG Afterburner series. It has floorless seating with a pendulum which is suspended between two support frames. When the ride starts the pendulum arm begins to swing through an arc of 170 degrees. Riders experience speed of up to 50 mph during the ride.

Dodgems
Always a popular ride. Inside the track there is flashing and fluorescent lights with a top of the range sound system.

Fun House
The fun house is an amusement facility in which people can have a number of unusual and hopefully amusing experiences. Unlike thrill rides, it is a participatory attraction, where patrons enter and move around under their own power. It is a place where you can briefly experience a world very different from the normal, eg, the floor doesn't stay put under the fee so you cannot always trust your senses and even gravity is not completely reliable.
Ghost Train
Want to get scared by the good old ghost train? Well this is your chance – you can scream away to your heart's content. It consists of a train that moves quite slowly through a darkened tunnel decorated with horror related items such as skeletons and ghosts.

Juvenile Rides
There are many children's rides and carousels available including mini roller coaster (Nessi), train rides, slides and much more.

Miami (Street Dancer)
A ride where you sit in a row then spin and twist around 360degrees. The seats swing from side to side then suddenly stop in mid air which causes and unnerving anxiety, as it is not certain whether it is going to swing left or right in the next movement.

Orbitor
Ground-breaking UK invention showing the first innovative use of hydraulics. Imagine 6 arms radiating from a central pivot, jointed like an elbow, with a cluster of cars on the end of each one. The orbitor ride rotates, the speed increases and the cars, which also turn independently, are lifted up as the jointed arms swing out.
Simulator
The simulator is a mechanism that encapsulates riders and creates the effect of being in a moving object. The whole room is on giant hydraulics. This causes false gravitational forces. The room can rotate, roll, pitch and yaw. Because of this, the combination tricks the mind into thinking it is flying or riding along, when in reality it is stationary.
Super Bob
Designed on the simple "hill and valley" roundabout with a plurality of radiating arms each having an inner end connected to a central support for vertical swinging movement and a passenger carrier at the outer end. The passenger carrier is supported from a circular pathway by a wheel and cushioning assembly with the pathway including a curved jump ramp, safety bridge and landing ramp to simulate the action of a ski jump. Speed is the essence combined with a stunning back flash.

Twist
A traditional thrill ride. Clusters of cars revolve independently at the end of three arms, which in turn revolve horizontally around a central pivot. The rush of air, the G-force felt by the riders and the apparent collision course as the arms appear to intersect leads to an exhilarating experience. The ride rotates in one direction, whilst the individual car groups rotate in a counter direction creating a weaving effect.

Waltzer
A long-standing fairground favourite and ideal for all the family. The Waltzer is great at creating excitement through speed, lights and music inside the enclosed area. It consists of a series of round cars pivoted to platforms. The cars travel around a circular track with hills and a flat section.
The Waltzer undulates causing the cars to spin on their own axis.
